    Well back from shopping.
Oma,didn't get anything special. Stocked up at the butchers.
    Got some meat for inlaws.
Went to Wilkos for quite a few things.
Best thing is we ate out.

Clover,i cook gammon joints in the slow cooker.
The only thing i don't cook in slow cooker,is a chicken.
It seems to give off a strange smell.Even hubby noticed it.

      Welcome home Qwerty.

lovely day here today and we decided this morning to do some gardening. But first I returned a missed call to my friend and I was on the phone for 45 minutes so DH made a start. Then I had to have my shower and wash my hair on,y to find when I had finished DH with a bloody face and arm. He’d been tugging on a particularly stubborn weed and toppled over right into the flower bed. Ended up with a scratch all down his face, grazes on his cheek and cuts all up his arm. Honestly, he can’t be left alone for a second! He thought it was highly amusing 😱. He’s ok, has a fetching graze on his cheek so is now going around saying “aha, Jim lad” like Long John Silver!!!

so after lunch we had a change of plan and ended up, on a really hot day, sorting out the loft! It was like an oven up,there, we must be mad. But we managed to get rid of loads of stuff...mainly empty boxes, he does like to keep the box from any new item we buy for some reason, but they’ve gone now.

What a day but but now I need another shower 🙂

Oh my goodness Enfys! Is he related to Mr Oma???!!

We always end up with quite a few things if we go to Wilko, Nan2.

Enfys - you can't let him out of your sight without him getting up to mischief! My OH keeps empty boxes in the loft as well. Is it a man thing, I wonder!

All this talk of clearing stuff out is making me feel guilty. There are cupboards in this house crammed full of 'stuff' - no idea what most of it is, but OH says it's important!!!

Nanto - eating out is lovely. We don't get to do it often enough, and I'm fed up with cooking. At least the caravan site we're going to next week has a pub on site. They don't do food but the local chip shop and Chinese deliver to it, so I shall try to escape from the kitchen most nights!

Good morning Nanto and everyone. Another pretty graphic.

I never have much success cooking braising steak - perhaps I should try the slow cooker as well. I bet tf smells delicious.

Nana - hi! Look forward to you chatting when you can.

Grauntie - I hope your progressive lunch goes well today.

Enfys - how is P? Are his battle scars healing?

Wilko seems very popular! Our nearest one is Southampton so not exactly convenient to pop into for a few bits and pieces.

It's promising to be a nice sunny day today - at least for this morning. I've persuaded OH to scarify the lawn a bit later when the dew's dried off. Then I can fill some of the dips and holes with compost and reseed. I asked OH to get some lawn seed when he was in the village yesterday, and he got 2 kg! The birds are going to have a feast!!! But first, we'll take Eva up to the paddock and DS2 and family might join us with Cooper. One walk, two tired dogs = a bargain!

Good morning. Lovely morning here too.

P is fine thank you Daisy, could have been worse. Is this a good time to reseed the lawn? But I don’t know how I’d keep Dexter off it, so I might just see if it picks up a bit more. It’s not looking too bad.

i am going to sort out the hanging baskets. I didn’t do any for the summer but fancy some filled with pansies so need to clean out the ones we have and get some plants. Otherwise not much planned today.

Daisy, braising steak is lovely done in the slow cooker, it makes the meat so tender. I must get some more to do, haven’t had it for ages. Always freezes well too.

Enfys - yes, September is a good time for seeding a lawn - the ground will be damp with dew, if not rain, and the soil is warm to help germination. I can't keep Eva (or Cooper) off the lawn, but I'm just doing patches and some will survive the dogs running round. I just need to keep an eye on their paws in case they get seeds in them, but with going away on Wednesday it will have 5 days to settle down and hopefully start growing. I'm not looking for perfection!

You've inspired me to try braising steak again!

Pleased to hear P is fine Enfys, is he still in the doghouse?

Our grass needs cutting now Daisy, that is Sil's job. Still lots of brown patches. My Cosmos are still growing, not many flowers, I cut the tops out, hoping that might encourage flowers.

Lovely sunny day here, I am going on a trip with the WI to the Railway Museum of the late Sit William McAlpine, lady McAlpine keeps it open for specially invited guests, one of our members's husband is a volunteer. We are having a ride on a train and visiting the museum. I am picking up another member at 11.15. Very pleased to hear they have a space for me to rejoin Aqua classes now I have wheels, starting on Thurs. need to shift the holiday weight gain.

                                Good morning everyone.

Dinner sounds yummy Nan2! Pork loin steaks for us.
I hope you have a lovely day Plant. I must start aquafit classes again once the schools are back.
                                Have a good wander Oma!
Enfys, that is a job I need to do soon, replace summer bedding with autumn winter pansies in tubs and baskets here and at mum's.
                                Happy dog walking Daisy!

Bright sunny morning here, with some clouds.
Last night we had a lovely meal out with our friend. We drove her home and we all sat in her garden until 11pm, is was so warm. Wine for them, tea for me as I was driving

This afternoon I am going to see mum. OH says she might come with me and get up a few more weeds. It has been a mammoth task!

Have a lovely Sunday, whatever it holds.
