But it's not fair - Aneeta Prem

This is a story but intended to help young people spot when their friends may be pushed into a forced marriage and explains what is likely to happen and what can be done to help the children involved. It also gave some reasons why the families might feel obliged to use their daughter's in this way. Well written and hard hitting but certainly gave me a lot to think about!

My concern would be that girls (and a few boys) are removed from their homes aged about 14. By highlighting this it could lead to much younger children being involved.

It sounds very interesting Shem. Maybe one to add to my Kindle library

We could perhaps consider it for a reading group book? Certainly plenty to discuss!

Sofia and Vinny are sisters who live in the East End of London. Sofia 10 loves bling, celebrities and wants to be on the cover of the glossy magazines.
Vinny and Sofia's safe world is turned upside down when Abby Kambi and her very traditional family move into the neighbourhood. Vinny and Abby become best friends. Abby and her family go abroad to her cousin's wedding in the summer holidays and Abby doesn't return.
What would you do if your best friend went on holiday and didn't come back? would you turn a blind eye or would you stand up and shout 'but it's not fair' until somebody listened`/

I would really love to become involved with the book club but I take so so long to finish a book you would all be reading July's choice before I gave you my feedback,I used to read every single night prior to going to sleep but now I am unable to get comfortable enough to read since the broken shoulder and arm,but I do think I shall find a copy of the book you spoke about Shemadee it sounds very interesting indeed.
