I'm not a fan of this event, and think the music is often rubbish, or at least unappealing. But I have to admit it's a colossal event to stage and it all seems to work seamlessly. So it was interesting to read this behind the scenes description of how it all happens. It's the same in a theatre production - I love trying to work out how set changes just "happen".

As a teenager I loved this! I would get the pull out supplement with score sheet from that night's evening press and give every country my score
I haven't watched for many years. I am aware of our entry for this year, but usually I have no idea“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Daisy, regarding theatre sets, when a show has it's final night it is Get Out night when everything has to be dismantled after the performance, and loaded onto lorries to travel elsewhere. I never expected my then OH back until well in the early hours on those nights.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Plant, I agree - and so do lots of other people. Perhaps it's just our age, but I don't think so! It's a song contest (I thought) and the staging, props and complicated musical effects detract from what might be a good song."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are.
