Sad to hear of this the end of an era Iām not a big classical fan but he did some good music and seemed a very nice man I was surprised he was 89 blimey time marches on RIP sir

I thought he was much younger too, and that sketch with Morecambe and Wise was classic. I think he was the first classical conductor and musician to cross the divide between classical and popular.
