It seems today there is a solar eclipse. The moon moves across the face of the sun but doesn't totally block out the light.
Apparently the best place to see it is in the Arctic, but that's a bit far to travel in a day! The best places in the UK appear to be Lerwick in the Shetland Isles and Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis - about 11.20 - 11.30 this morning. In London about 20% of the sun will be covered around 11.15 am.
The chances of seeing anything at all here on the south coast are nil - thick cloud and drizzle for us!
