Nanto - I think your gran was right! The nets should be snowy white and an example to us all!
Plant - I suppose most big, old houses are the same. My OH says I have no soul - I like modern houses, furniture and all mod cons! He grew up in a huge old house with no proper heating, draughty windows and little tiny light bulbs dangling in the middle of enormous rooms.
