Nana - you're definitely not losing your touch! I'm so glad you got one of your pieces accepted, but to be honest, the judging process is so shrouded in secrecy how on earth are you to tell what they're looking for. I thought both the ones on this thread were lovely and the stitched scan photo is a marvellous idea that all new mums would love to have.

One out of 3 is good! My friend, a great photographer submits photos into their village show ever year and although she does win some prizes, some of the entries which beat hers are not as good. It is all subjective really!

Thank you. I think I am disappointed to get just one accepted because I've always got all three in or just one rejected. It's the 1st time I've felt confident about all three entries too.

As Gem says, it's all very subjective! I'm sure you 'crit' your own work - I know I do with my photographs - and if you were happy with them, then that's the main thing. The fact that we all love them is a bonus. The judging panel are making choices on the basis of goodness knows what! It could be on things like 'we don't know how/where we'd display that on' or something quite random.

We're not likely to be having any more GCs, but if we were I'd definitely commission you to make a scan embroidery for the mum-to-be.
