The sad thing about having pets is that almost certainly there comes a point where you have to say goodbye.
I got a phone call from DS2 this morning to say that the blood tests the vet did on Midge (their dog) yesterday are not good. Either his kidneys or his liver, or possibly both are failing and the vet has given him about a month at most. So in an agonising day, DS and DIL have decided the kindest option will be to have him put to sleep. One of the downsides of running your own business is that you have responsibilities to your customers and tomorrow is out of the question. They've decided the vet will go round on Monday morning. But their estate is being cabled at the minute and the noise outside the house today was unbearable with angle grinders and kango hammers making the house shake. Midge wasn't too happy, so tomorrow I'm going round to look after him so they don't have to worry about him being frightened. But it's going to be a sad day.![Frown](https://gransrus.com/core/images/smilies/frown.png)
