Last evening we were in the front room, quietly reading, when the most blood curdling scream , the like of which I’ve never heard before, came from the back of the house.
I rushed into the conservatory and there was Coco, all seven pounds of her, with fur and tail on end, growling at one of the easy chairs. The screeching was from a fox cub cowering behind the chair terrified of the cat less than half his size.
Coco looked at me, and the fox took his chance and escaped through the open doors.
Coco then just washed her paws and looked smug.
But that sound will stay with me for ever!
