    Drama in the conservatory

Last evening we were in the front room, quietly reading, when the most blood curdling scream , the like of which I’ve never heard before, came from the back of the house.

I rushed into the conservatory and there was Coco, all seven pounds of her, with fur and tail on end, growling at one of the easy chairs. The screeching was from a fox cub cowering behind the chair terrified of the cat less than half his size.

Coco looked at me, and the fox took his chance and escaped through the open doors.

Coco then just washed her paws and looked smug.

But that sound will stay with me for ever!

Sum1, I have never heard a fox but they say it sounds like a baby crying.
That scream must have been shock!
I bet Coco felt like little heroine

      OH my goodness ,
Your heart must have been hammering in your chest hearing that,
The poor fox cub , up against a scary beast like Coco😁
That is one fox cub that won't venture indoors again.

Coco sounded like she was very proud of herself scaring everyone around,
I have heard foxes scream loudly but only seen it on nature programmes ,
You don't get the full effect on telly though do you 🤣
Im not fat just 6ft too small

We get them coming in the garden now and again, but i've never heard one screech like that.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Sum1, well done to brave little Coco, taking on a screeching fox cub. I hope she was duly rewarded.

This has reminded me of the screeching noise foxes make. When our DS2 was born we lived in a tiny village with farm land and woodland right behind our house. I'd only been home with our new baby for one night when I was woken by the screeching sound. Convinced it was the baby, I was terrified, only to find DS2 sleeping peacefully and the eerie noise was a fox, coming from the woodland behind.

It is the most unearthly sound.
