Thank you all for your kind messages....and DD says thanks too! Happy to report, he's home and was much better this morning when I left. He had a large growth on his intestine which the vet removed, but also had to stitch back his intestines and various blood vessels etc. He was give a 30% chance of coming through the op! But, we're pleased to report that he did and is back home though on strict rest, walks down the garden and no further, chicken and rice every 3 to 4 hours, 2 tablets to take daily and back to vet on Monday evening. He's not out of the woods yet, as there's a risk of infection, but he's getting there and looks so much brighter than he did when we got him home on Wednesday evening.
I got the job of taking him to the vet yesterday morning, it's only over the road from their house so not far. Got out onto the path, he had a wee, crossed the road and then refused to move. No amount of persuasion could get him to move. He turned round and walked back across the road and I phoned the vet. They though he might not have felt like walking so I was to let him rest and take him in later. I did and he headed straight for the vet's!! I won't repeat what I said as I was standing at the side of one of the busiest roads in High Wycombe with a stationary dog!!
