So true Mamar* Those who don't have or never have had pets don't get it. The love and the worrying is so deep. They mean the world to us don't they?
Our 4 cats are all over 14. Each morning when I get up and meet all 4 waiting to be fed, I am thankful that they are all alive and well to start another day!

So agree Gemini,I adore my mad mutt, even though he is almost 6 but acts like a puppy. He didn't have the best start for his first almost 3 years,he was loved/fed etc but the training was zero input.Although he has come a long way behaviour wise he still has terrible seperation anxiety from being left 6 hours every day by previous Owner. I can pop to the shop been gone 15 minutes and on my return he acts like I had been gone all day. So you got to love animals to put up with some of Brambles antics.I'm pleased your fur baby has nothing more serious wrong with him Daisy, they are a worry that I know.

Firstly, what a cracking photo Daisy. Glad to hear Clyde's problem is being treated, and long may he live!

Clyde has had another reasonably good night - I had to get up to him twice - once to go out and once because he couldn't find his bed! Although we leave a low light on at the top of the landing, I think he gets disorientated in the dark - or just wants human company, but he was crying so I gave him a cuddle and put him back in his bed.

I can understand it's hard to people who don't have pets to understand the bond. I was at the hairdressers yesterday and she was telling me that her beloved cat, Bella, had been hit by a car. The short story is she had to have a leg amputated, and the vets bill mounted up to over £2,000. One of her stylists was completely shocked - spending £2,000 on a cat! But she'd never had a pet. As the hairdresser said, she didn't even think twice about the bill, even though it's hard for her to find that sort of money.

Daisy, I'm glad Clyde had a reasonable night.
I have heard non pet owners express surprise at the bills owners sometimes have to pay. If you love your pet you wouldn't consider not paying for then to be well, any more than you would a family member.

As I've said elsewhere, I had an unexpected day of childcare today which meant Clyde had to stay in on his own while OH did the supermarket shop. But by the time I got home tonight he was more lively. He gave me a really good welcome and followed me out into the garden when I watered the greenhouse - and then managed to get up the back door step all on his own. So I think he's feeling a bit better and the tablets are doing their work. So feeling a bit happier about him now. Thank you all for for your concern for him. x
