As members know, so far GransRus has been Just Us, members from a previous forum. Before new members joined us we wanted to wait until the forum was finished, and we had learned as much as we can about running the forum.
You have all been with us throughout our teething stage, and now hopefully we are walking
For a while now we have needed to get the About Us intro page up and running and that is being worked on now.
So, before long we can invite others in, and hopefully prospective new members will find us on Google or other search engines, which is probably how most of us found the original forum!

I hope we soon get some lovely new members, and that we all welcome them (I know you all will )
If any of you have granny friends who you think would enjoy GRU, please do invite them once our About Us page is working.

New members will be a breath of fresh air, and will add interest to our community.
Don't forget, although we are friendly (I hope!) GRU admin are also strict about certain things. We won't tolerate any nastiness of any sort, so there is no need to worry.

Can I just ask: this morning quite early I popped on and there was a Nicola Parsons who posted on a beauty tip thread. Is that a real person or a test person because when I went back to look for the thread I couldn't find it so went on Nicola Parsons profile to try and pick it up because I couldn't remember who started it and there was the date of joining but no posts. Actually I have no idea how I did that as I am a bit of a dunce on here. Apologies if Nicola is real and gets offended by my question, I really don't mean to offend.....

Nicola Parsons was advertising, we have had maybe half a dozen since we have been here. Someone sees them and informs admin, or deletes and bans them if they themselves are admin or a moderator. Luckily Oma spotted this one. Nicola Parsons is gone

Thank you so much Ladies, for your votes of confidence. We're beavering away behind the scenes to tie up some lose ends and to make us all smart and spruce. It's a steep but interesting learning curve, but it just shows you're never too old to learn new skills.

Spoke to Teragram on facebook chat and said we missed her on GRU, she said she finds it difficult and she just goes around in circles. I told her we all felt like that at first and encouraged her to come back into the fold.

Nan2, I also love our little community! As we know from past forums, a lot of new members will join over time, and many will never post, or post a few times, and disappear. Some will stay and go on to become lively, active valuable members like all of you What I mean is our closeness will remain with a few new friends joining us along the way!

Plant you are so right. I think every one of us found some degree of difficulty in navigating a different site set up. As you say, with practice, as with all things, it gets easier, then natural Thanks for encouraging Teragram.
