BHS (British Home Stores) are closing up to about 50 of its stores across the country, and have closing down sales in full swing.
I picked up several bargains in the Southampton store yesterday, including some really smart but comfortable boot-shoes for £28. This store is due to close early in the New Year - I don't know about others - so it's worth having a look soon.

I received an e-mail this morning re the Winter Sale at Landsend giving an extra 30% discount on sale items,this is the fab Company that I buy my Winter Coats from for the family when they need them,I find their Squall Coat so so warm and cosy and have had one for 4 years now I would like the Stadium Coat they have on offer but can't justify it as I have a Squall that is in really good order,they have fab warm pyjamas for just £10.00 and I've ordered them they look so cosy,Well worth a look if you in the market for a really warm well made winter coat.Keep Calm,You're FabulousComment

My bargain is the £1600 I just spent on triple glazing, air conditioning and a new front door being installed this week. Because we live so near to the airport we qualify for super discounts. The scaffolding alone should cost £4K! Actually I think it is a bit of a bribe to get locals to support the third runway but I don't care. A friend of husbands who lives along the road did not know about the scheme and paid £12,000 recently, she is a little bit sick now I think!If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go togetherComment

Glamm - I love Lands End as well. Not the cheapest, but great quality and nice fit. I'm very tempted by the Squall Coat - the always look warm and cosy. I bought some of their pyjamas about 4 years ago and they're still in good shape.

Daisy I have to agree with you sweetie the Squall 3/4 coat I got 4 yrs ago looks as good as the day it came out of the packaging,I also at the same time bought a down filled hip length jacket in winter white and I just love it,it can be machine washed but is a bit of a bug bare when you have to fluff up the down in the individual pockets whilst it is still damp but well worth the trouble I have never been so warm as when I wear it.hoping my pjs arrive to-morrow I love getting prezzies through the post

Oh and I were shopping in Sainsbury's today. We were in a hurry and I asked him to go and get 4 tins of chopped tomatoes and 4 tins of the brand leader baked bean. I caught up with him as he was taking 4 individual tins of beans off the shelf. When I asked him why he hadn't got a pack of four he said 'because 4 tins are 50p each and a pack of 4 is £2.50'. No wonder I usually leave him to do the shopping!!!
