    A good way to go

OH went to a funeral today. A friend and gentleman who she worked with for many years.
He was 85 and had been happily married for 62 years, he was granddad to 7, and a great granddad.
I met him and his wife several times and liked him a lot.
As well as having his own branch of funeral directors (he was still working in a backstage type manner all along) he had done many interesting things during his life.
He died peacefully in his chair, while his wife went to make them a sandwich. She went back to see if he wanted tea of coffee as he hadn't answered when she called, and he had died.
A shock for that lady of course, but wouldn't we all wish for this?
A good, happy, full life and to go so quickly ?
    RIP , Mr M

That was a good way to go Gem so peaceful. but as you say a shock for his wife.
A few years ago,one of our elderly neighbours went to the shop for milk.
She was only out about 10 minutes, but when she got back, her husband had died while sitting in his chair.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

It is an awful shock for the family, but once the shock has worn off I'm sure they will think that it was a 'good death'.

I hope the gentleman's wife is ok and has family and friends around her to help her through.
