OH went to a funeral today. A friend and gentleman who she worked with for many years.
He was 85 and had been happily married for 62 years, he was granddad to 7, and a great granddad.
I met him and his wife several times and liked him a lot.
As well as having his own branch of funeral directors (he was still working in a backstage type manner all along) he had done many interesting things during his life.
He died peacefully in his chair, while his wife went to make them a sandwich. She went back to see if he wanted tea of coffee as he hadn't answered when she called, and he had died.
A shock for that lady of course, but wouldn't we all wish for this?
A good, happy, full life and to go so quickly ?
RIP , Mr M
