Growing up we only ever had Yorkshire pudding with beef but with one Yorkshire son in law and one from West Midlands we have them with pork and lamb as well now - but not chicken!

With her first job in Leeds DD2 was asked to bring fruit cake to the staff Christmas party and was totally bemused when asked where the cheese was! Not something we had come across being soft southerners! She tells me it really enhances the flavour but I haven’t been tempted to try it!

We have Yorkshire puds with any meat and sometimes with sausages.

Yorkshire pud goes with anything in our house , Toad in the hole is a favourite too , its also nice with Mince , Giant Yorshire pud with everything inside and lots of gravy yummy too ,
I'm not a eater of Cheese apart from soft cheese and melted Edam on toast or a burger but its a thing hear in the north to have Apple with fruit cake isn't it girls ,

Qwerty me and my DD were talking about food combinations tonight on way home , she eats some strange stuff like Mint sauce on toast , sounds revolting but actually very nice I have tried it , I will tell her the Apple pie and Cheese one ,although she doesn't like Apple pie ,

Qwerty, my OH doesn't like those things. No apple sauce with pork, cranberry with chicken or turkey, mint with lamb. I love all those things and think something is missing if I don't get them!

Dirty Food, what a silly expression!

We always have cheese with fruit cake, although hubby didn't have it till he met me.

I've never had apple pie with cheese, but someone once told me,
apple pie without cheese,is like a kiss without a squeeze.
