After the family barbecue we had yesterday that was about three-quarters of a large cheesecake left over. I had popped it back in the fridge for DIL1 to take home (we'd shared the catering) but we both forgot it. So this morning I took it over to DIL2's, knowing she loved cheesecake, but also knowing there was far too much for her to eat. At least it wouldn't all go to waste.
Anyway, DIL2 has tonight portioned it up and taken generous slices round to the lady next door who is yet again taking care of her troubled teenage grandson, the lady at the end of the road who isn't very well and needs cheering up, and two friends who she knows never have the money for luxuries like that. And there's still enough for her to have a slice today and tomorrow. Isn't she a lovely DIL!
