    Leaf tea or teabags?

I love Earl Grey and Lady Grey teas, and sometimes drink fruit teas and peppermint tea. I am not particularly fond of 'builders tea' (much loved by my OH) but do drink it when offered it of course.
I generally buy tea bags. When I have Earl Grey in nice tea rooms it is often loose tea, and I do think it tastes much better.
I can't be bothered with tea strainers however so I decided to buy a teapot with built in strainer. I bought one on Whittard's when I was away recently. Now to buy some leaves!
Do you use tea bags or loose tea?

Gem you are quite right. I only drink Lady Grey tea which means I carry teabags wherever I go and, even in tea shops will ask for a pot of hot water and add my own bag. However, the loose Lady Grey and Earl Grey have a lot more flavour than the bags and definitely worth trying. I am not sure about Indian (builder's) tea as I only have that for DH and he is happy with the bags.

The only tea I drink is fruit tea having gone off "normal" tea during a pregnancy. I just don't like the smell and I don't like the milk in it either. I only drink black coffee. Husband doesn't drink tea or coffee (but he does like a drop of whiskey!)

I never took to tea bags , I use leaves all the time , but when I have visitors I have to get out the strainer even with the built in strainer in the tea pot . I only use ordinary tea , not Earl grey

Always used loose tea when my husband was alive but as I only drink one cup I now use tea bags

I buy Yorkshire tea bags for hubby. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a drink of tea, don't dislike it, but I always have coffee. It does have to be Nescafe original though. Don't like mam and dads coffee, so I always buy my own for there as well.

Very strong breakfast tea is the only one I can tolerate. I am not a tea lover. And these are in bags.

Nan2 I have Gold Blend Barista if I am not using my cafetière. I always take a small pot with me when staying away as I don't like the hotel sachets, apart from anything else they are I nowhere near as strong for me. I like a good strong cup of coffee in the morning, the sort that melts the teaspoon! I have Assam tea bags for if anyone comes and wants tea although I am a rubbish tea maker as I never seem to be able to make two cups of tea that look the same!

We both drink tea and although I use PG Tips for everyday I prefer loose leaves for a special treat, and English Breakfast is my favourite. I've tried Earl Grey several times, but just can't take to it, but do quite like Lady Grey, but for me it's not the 'real thing'. Whatever I use though, I always use a teapot - making it in the cup doesn't taste the same! But since we've had a pod coffee machine I tend to have coffee from that rather than go to the trouble of making loose-leaf tea just for myself. I used to drink loads of very strong, black coffee, but have cut right back to at most one a day, which the pod machine is ideal for.

Tea bag person here, but I cannot abide it made in the cup. As I use almond milk I have first out of the pot. I do like tea with a slice of lemon though.
I find I have to limit myself to one cup of filter coffe a day too.
I can't function until I have had a cuppa first thing.

Same as another member, I was so sick of hospital tea I stopped drinking it. I do however miss the 'tea making ceremony". I loved using the teapot & the rest of the China.

Now I have black coffee, water & very occasionally a green tea with lemon.

I prefer coffee, but if I was to have a cup of tea it would be T-bags, OH prefers the cups of tea but usually just buy what's on offer, got to be a brand though....PG tips, Yorkshire tea etc, have tried peppermint tea but did not like it, never tried any other teas so might give it a go...the only person I remember using tea leafs is my nana but you used to get it all at the bottom of the cup, yuk...I know you can get strainers but never knew you could get the strainer in with the tea pot, that might be an idea for MIL for................would I dare say it, Christmas present.........I know she wants a tea caddy with the hole for the spout, all I can find in the shops is the full cover...
