I use my breadmaker all the time , mostly brown and seeded breads , but here in Northern Ireland we have lovely soda breads , brown , white and today was at a cookery demo and she made a lovely soda cheese tear and share in less than 20 mins , took her less than 5 mins to mix so going to have a go at that . OH likes shop bread but I can't eat it

I've got a Panasonic as well. It's a bit battered now, but still works fine. A couple of years ago I found it wasn't baking properly and I thought it was on its way 'out', then realised that the weather was bitterly cold and so was our kitchen and the yeast wasn't getting enough warmth to develop. So I now use warmer water and that works really well.
My OH is probably in the same class as WeeGranny's - ie, out to lunch when it comes to any sort of cooking!

Gemini - that sounds great! Amazing that it makes jam as well - does it toast the bread, butter it and spread the jam on as well.
You will, of course, have to invite us all round for tea to do a tasting for you. x"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
