    Keys

Do your children have keys to your house? Ours do and always have done. Speaking to friends recently, they said that they wouldn't give a set of keys to anyone, not even the children. This is a very close family and the children are very responsible and likeable adults.
We have always said wherever we live will always be home to the DDs even though they live in their own houses. What do you think?

I agree with Plant this is still my children's home .
my DD has a set as does my SIL it means if they need anything or we need them to get in they can , my SIL if he's in the area working and we are out can come in and make some lunch or use the loo save going home ,
My DS has a set but I'm not sure he would know where he put them to be honest
We also have keys for there homes ,
I use ours for DD's all the time picking Dog or GS1 up dropping shopping off etc ,
Keys for DS's I would never use now because of DIL I have no need to go to their home , but in an Emergency they are there to use .

Yes both DS and DD have keys and we have their keys too, to not give them would seem like you didn't trust them, always told my children this your home always !

My lot have a key , and we have a locker with key in for the Carers so they have the code for that , I feel happier that they can come in when needed . One Sister I took the key back , she used to turn the key and enter in silence ! , other sister either shouts hello or knocks the living room door . I felt sis 1 was sneaking in , she made me jump !

Ours have keys and although they have never lived in this house, it is still there home. Two trusted neighbours also have keys in case the burglar alarm goes off! We also have keys to both sons houses.

Same here, none of them have lived here but have keys.

Actually DD3 doesn't! The other 2 do because of arriving here before me at times, and having babies with them. There is no reason for DD3 not to have one, but they are a young , busy childless couple who never come here unexpectedly , so there has never been the need!

I have had a key of my mums for years and always have it with me when I go round.

Yes, both of ours have keys. My sister in law and myself have keys to parents house.

My 3 all have keys always have done since they left home the boys even took theirs with them when they where serving abroad or stationed in other parts of the Country we very often came home to a house full of squaddies who had been given unexpected leave for a few days and DS1 or DS2 had been kind enough to invite them home for a few days,we also have the key safe to the external wall just in case OH takes ill and I am out at shops etc,I can't understand anyone who wouldn't give a key to their family unless they where very "doddgy".

I quite agree Glam. Definitely far from dodgy though. It seems it is quite unusual reading the responses.
