We have keys to both our sons' houses, but I always ring the bell if they are in. I only use the key if they're out. They both have keys to our house. My friend who looks after Eva also has a key and will always pop in to check on Eva if we are out.
We seem to have a collection of keys for neighbours - two of them because their security alarm providers say they have to have key holders in case the alarm goes off. One of them is too far away for us to hear it!
