Nana - glad you managed a little walk yesterday. Yes, definitely hide the remote!

Work widow here. Husband is a shift worker and trainer for new entrants to his airline company ground crew. This means that most weekends and bank holidays I am alone and when he isn't actually working he gets dozens of phone calls in his private time and so many texts! Pees me off to be honest, I don't like it but it brings its own privileges in a way. But it also means that when I am feeling low I am mostly in my own which hasn't helped recently.

            Zizi, I sympathise.
My ex husband was a workaholic. Combine that with owning his own business for the majority of our marriage, meant lots of time alone for me. The children were my joy and my life.
Evenings, (8pm home was an early night, worthy of comment!) , weekends, frequent trips away, here and abroard - looked at that way I shouldn't really complain about present OH's golf I suppose!

It's a difficult balance, isn't it! My OH always worked long and unpredictable hours. I never knew what time he'd be home, and at one point he'd sometimes ring up asking me to put a case on the train for him to pick up in London because he had to go away overnight. But I also worked long hours. I might have finished teaching at 4.30 but there was always a pile of marking, lesson prep and admin to do in the evenings. I envied people who's working day finished at 5 pm and they could sit down for a meal together and relax in the evenings.

Zizi - I think shift working is a whole different ball game, though. It's relentless and as you say means working unsocial hours. It's very hard being on your own when everyone else seems to be off work for, say, a Bank holiday, and I really sympathise. xx

                  Absolutely Qwerty!
I am SO envious of my OH going away with her friends for this break abroad. OH is the youngest The others being 67, 70 and 72, so it's never too late

Gem - they are all younger than me!!!

It's lovely to get away for a few days, and I'm sure your OH is enjoying her golf in the sunshine, and I'm glad you have at least had the lovely spa day with your DDs. It won't be long before OH is back! x
