Yesterday my oldest Nephew had the same spinal fusion that Brian had and my how times have changed , when Brian had his in the 80,s he was cut across his back from his hip down past his tail bone up to the other hip , had to lie flat on his back for 6 month and then learn to walk again , My Nephew has a 6 inch cut up the middle of his spine bones fused a titanium plate put over them and was on his feet 2 hours after his op ,All being well will be home today . Talking to my Brother last night about it and he said "we'll it was in the dark ages when Brian had his first one and we had just developed tools when he had his second" , he may have a point there hahaha 😂

That's wonderful Oma. Hope he continues to do well. I think back to when DH was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes back in the early '70's, things have changed so much since then thank goodness. When I think of the huge needles he had to use then compared to the tiny ones they have now, I can't believe the difference it makes."Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

It's marvellous how medicine has moved on ladies pity some of us were born too early for these procedures but that's life I guess, my sis in law had her gall bladder out in the 60's and she was cut from her chest and across her stomach now it's keyhole surgeryLast edited by Qwerty; 24-04-2016, 08:07 PM.
