I’ve been told that, should I need looking after in the future, DD and DS have it all in hand! I haven’t plucked up the courage to ask what their plan is yet!
My previous elderly neighbours had live in carers. I think they did 3or4 months at a time. They were both nurses and one was a farmer’s wife who did the job to pay boarding school fees for her sons. They became part of the family! One got stuck here when there were travel restrictions back to SA during lockdown.
Several people in my village have live in carers, some are nicer than others!

Wee Granny, I should think the hardest aspect of a live-in carer is finding exactly the right person. It sounds as though your DD and DS have covered all bases if you should ever need them. What a lovely family you have.

My MIL had 5 children and always said if it came to it, she'd spend two months at a time with each "child" and two months holiday. Sadly after a severe stroke she needed professional care and her plan never happened. We would have gladly have her living with us for our allocated two months - or longer.

I think people are turning to live-in carers because of the Nursing Home fees. The fees in this area are between £1,500 and £2,000 a week. Cheaper in the local town.
