I have had to help him dress today, we are going to Beating the Retreat tonight in town so he is not wearing his BA uniform which has a clip tie. I had to tie his tie for him, goodness me it has been a long time since I did that but I did a darned good job. He says that he is not in so much pain this morning but cannot lift his arm so getting his jacket on was difficult. One of his co trainers phoned late last night and said she would pick him up so he has just gone off armed with pain killers, oh and Zovirax as he has developed a cold sore overnight.

The doctor has booked him into a fracture clinic on the 16th June and he will need physio, I am going to ask for that on my health insurance through work as the fracture clinic at our local hospital had a six week wait so he will go to St Peters in Chertsey which is a pig to get to on the bus and I am out all day on the 16th so if his physio is going to be there it will make life difficult for him.

Got a lot to do today so I will poke around on here for ten minutes and get cracking.

Ziti he is not one to shy off work is he, he is not going to let something like this stop him getting on with things.
I hope the pain killers do their job and his day goes as well.

He fell in the middle of the road and was lucky not to have been run over, two cars stopped and the drivers helped him up. A little fact that he didn't tell me until just a hour ago on the telephone! Dear me,what am I going to do with him?

He didn't have a good night last night but tonight I think he will. We have been out and just back, he is really tired. Tell you about our trip tomorrow as I am worn out too.....

Plant, You're a star patient. The exercises will help in the long run, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.

Zizi - I hpe OH did get a good night's sleep - it sounds as though you've had an exciting day one way or another. I do hope Mr Z doesn't have to travel far for physio - it makes everything so much harder! Some out of the way hospitals have a shuttle buss from the nearest station - it's worth checking. It's good to know there are some caring drivers out there - thank goodness they stopped and helped.

Dear Mr Zizi, how I feel for you we could be partners in crime couldn't we ?,I went to the fracture clinic for my 1st appt yesterday and they have said they can not reset it as too messy and suggest it heals its self or possibly have new shoulder joint fitted which specialist thinks would not be advisable at the minute he wants to see how it heals first,I seem to have the pain under better control for now but still a lot of discomfort,I am intending to go back to Charity work next week as I'm sure doing something productive will take my mind off the discomfort,OH is doing
very good at the kitchen arrangements thank goodness for M&S takeaways lol.

Come along now people, there has been too much falling about around here!! Plant, Glamma and Mr Zizi! Let that be an end to it!!

I hope everyone is soon feeling a lot better. Thank goodness for M&S meals as you say Glamma! Don't overdo it, but I agree going back to the charity work a little will give you something to do and take your mind off the discomfort.

We would compare notes Glamm on the techniques we use for dealing with personal requirements and getting dressed, at least you have Mr. Glamma. I have got to the Physio stage and it isn't looking too good ATM. Good luck with your injury

Plant,I have sent DD out to-day to buy me a couple of front fastening blouses in bigger sizes lol.Trying to get pants on is a problem as I can only get them half way up before asking OH for help the fact thats its my dominant arm does not help matters any way,we should get to gether and write a self help book we may make a few £s. xxx don't even go down the hair brushing route !!!

Mine was my hand, I bought one of those rubber protectors, so that I could shower, was good when I could get it on. I am an expert in putting a fastened up bra over my head. Mine is my dominant hand too so couldn't write, play bowls and left handed typing was fun. I wore a hat out in public until I could master my hair. We certainly are a lot of old crocks. Good luck for a speedy recovery
