My GG Nephew was born last night ,
My Sister its G Grandmother rang me a bit later with the name ,

She said I really hope this is a joke but I don't think it is they are calling him POND !!!

I kid you not POND

My sister isnt happy nor is my Niece its Grandmother

Where do these young parents get the names from ,
I don't think they should be able to register such stupid names but what do I know

We are all hoping they are kidding or at least change there minds
What's it's middle name going to be , Puddle or something as silly .

Watch this space i will let you know how outrageous it gets

Oma, I see such strange names, but Pond! One of DIL's GC is Lio, strange spelling but that is how it is, the youngest is Jessy. I saw on near here, they have it in the window, Lucky!!!

Hmm. I usually say 'It wouldn't be my choice, but if they like it fine'. Some names just should not be given though should they?
Pond life springs to my mind as nickname, poor child.
Let's hope they change their minds before he is registered , or they give him a decent middle name that he can use.

A friend of mine was horrified when several years ago her DD name her baby son Seven, the number. She is used to to now but still doesn't like it.
There is a child in GS2's class named Bear.

Probably all the celebrities will love it! When you think of some of the names that the children of pop stars, chefs , film stars have been given it's probably not that odd! I have to say it's not something I'd have chosen, but it's the parents choice, not ours! Changing it because other family members don't like it could cause problems within the family especially if the parents love it!

She has said she will call him Junior refuses to call him Pond

There is little she can do about it , she said she has told them what she thinks along with DIL's parents they are not happy either .

I do think it's hard choosing a name for a new-born baby, but, honestly, I think I would have exhausted every name ever heard of before choosing Pond.

Gem - Bear is pretty awful too, although I think there's an element of fashion about the name. Isn't one of Jamies Oliver's sons called Bear? The name River also seems to be used just lately - for some reason it always makes me think of the song "Running Bear".

Perhaps the good old traditional names are best!
