Gemini what a sad post. I too offer support and empathy to anyone going through loss and sad times. Everything is up on the air at the moment with this dreadful pandemic. We’ve had loss in our family with my Mother in law passing fairly recently. It’s hard to come to terms with death when you realise that’s it and they are gone. She was the best Mother in law to me and I miss her every day. Still, as you say good times are to be had again accompanied with happy memories. 🙂 x

Aww, sending condolences Fairyqueen. I'm glad you have happy memories of your dear MIL.
Thank you. It was good to see mum after all this time. It was very hard only being allowed to see her outdoors though, especially with her very poor hearing. She found it so hard us not being allowed to touch, even hands
I am visiting again tomorrow, weather permitting. She is too old and frail to sit out in the wind and rain.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

FQ we usually (but not this year ) meet in Birmingham once a year for two days , with luck you could with living in Manchester join us .?
Sadly because of the Virus it hasn’t happened this year ,
We meet in Birmingham as it’s central for lots of us . Not all ladies join us it tends to be different every year some can make it some can’t due to circumstances and some just don’t want to meet and that’s fine it’s not for everyone .
There has been a year i couldn’t make it as my husband was having chemo ,but I’m sure if you decided to join in we would love to see you .
Next year we hope to resumeIm not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, that gives her plenty of time to decide whether we are dangerous nutcases, or harmless
As Oma days FQ, not everyone goes to the get together. Some because of family commitments and some because they prefer their online friendships to stay online.
Those of us who do go have always enjoyed it very much and look forward to the next time. Some firm friendships have formed from both from being here online, and the real life meetings.

I love Northumberland FQ.
I keep looking for a self catering place to go for couple of days, but most are fully booked until November, some until Christmas! This would have the added advantage of possibly meeting up with Oma and Mr Oma for a socially distanced lunch or something. It's been too long!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

He’s fine at the moment thank you FQ he’s had a Bone Marrow transplant and going strong 😁
I think everyone’s plans have been put on hold it’s a year we wont forget , for me mostly because this virus took away my Brother a fit man gone within 2 weeks . Still doesn’t seem real as we were unable to go to the funeral so it feels he’s still with us and it’s happening to another family
We are not alone it’s happening to thousands , all we can do is batters down the hatches and not let the B****r grind us down 😁
Got to end at some point then we will all be giddy with excitement and go wild 😂😂😂Im not fat just 6ft too small

Welcome FairyQueen from glamma its wonderful to have new members.
I have been here a few years now and we are such a nice bunch I have not been to any meet ups but feel as though I know everyone personally, such fantastic support when I lost my lovely John a few months ago.
I have one daughter and 2 sons all grown up now and have 3 granddaughters aged from 2yrs-22yrs and 5 grandsons aged 17-29yrs my second eldest GS has made me a great nana with a 4yr old little girl and a 2yrs old little man, just perfection.
I live across the River from Liverpool so my music is very much 60s with all the groups that came out of the city, easy for Chester and Wales.
Lovely to see your first postings xKeep Calm,You're Fabulous

Thank you for all your lovely welcomes! I am looking forward to making new friends and learning some new stuff! Gemini we use a Company called Coquet Cottages. We can highly recommend them. They have properties all over Northumberland. Oma I am so pleased your Husband is on the mend and how very sad the dreadful virus has claimed your brother. No proper goodbye - tragic.
hello nano pleased to meet you. Hope to chat some more.
glamma sorry to hear about John. So many sad times for you. Hope you are ok. You have a fantastic family around you and a great nana as well! Wonderful. Is that you on the photo? You are indeed glam! A final caveat- I love Liverpool and the music! I’ve read all of Nadine Dorres books and they are all about Liverpool. Fantastic city (and football team)!

Hello Fairyqueen and welcome. I live on the south coast and have 2 grown up grandchildren who live nearby and a 13 year old grandson who lives in Australia. I have been a member here for a few years now and have enjoyed one of the meet-ups, great fun. I lost my husband only two weeks ago and have had lots of love and support from my friends here.
I am keeping busy but it is difficult at the moment, reading and knitting keeps me occupied and I am lucky that my daughter lives just over the road. So easy to pop over for a coffee.

FairyQueen - is this the Bob Dylan song? Somehow it passed me by back in the day, but I do like it. It's a lovely way of choosing your Forum name.

I'm originally from Stoke on Trent, and my OH grew up in Meliden, near Rhyl - he went to school in Rhyl. We now live on the south coast - not far from both Sunshine and Enfys. I've worked mainly in education, but with slightly older students than you or Gem - 16+.
I'm sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. She sounds a very nice lady and you must miss her such a lot.
Gem - I know what you mean about 'with more love' - I'm really loving having teenage grandsons.

Hello Fairy Queen! Welcome from the South Easterly contingent (that’s me, on my own, by myself, in Essex 😁).
I am Grandma, Grannie, Old Woman to four little darlings. One girl, 13, and three boys, 11, 8 and 5. The two eldest live nearby and we have just heard that the other family will be moving locally (from London) soon.
I am a keen gardener and also enjoy all kinds of craft.
Enjoy the forum, it’s a great place to be.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.
