Hello Avo. Thank you for the welcome. Very pleased to meet you. You sound like you have a wonderful life with your 4 beautiful grandchildren. A Motorhome must be brilliant for getting out and about - especially with the current restrictions. I am just learning to crochet and I have promised my grand daughters blankets for their dolls! I have been to Portugal a couple of times and loved it. 😊

Hello Fairyqueen and welcome.
I live in Wales but was born in England. My GD is 18 (and has had a very trying year with none of the usual end of school events, birthday celebrations or any of the social things 18 year olds like to do,). She has just passed her driving test and with excellent A level results is soon off to Uni. Her brother is 15 and has Asperger’s .They live near London so see them only rarely.
I became a widow in April but everyone on here has been so kind and supportive. No one judges and if there are different opinions we just beg to differ and move on.
I’m sure you’ll soon find your way around.

Hi FQ and welcome! I'm granny to an almost 14 year old grandson who belongs to my DD.They live about an hour and three quarters away so don't see them as often as I'd like. They live near Plant, so I have been able to meet up with her on a few occasions in between our annual meet up ( sadly not this year though). My DS seems to prefer dogs to children, so I'd be very surprised if I have any more grandchildren!!!
We are just back from a week in Suffolk with the family which was lovely.
Having a bit of a rough time with OH's health at the moment, so I'm not on here every day, but I 'lurk' so I keep up to date with all the gossip.
Which part of the country are you in? Most members seem to be 'Oop North'!Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Thank you for the welcome clover. I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you are feeling better. It’s tough isn’t it? Good news regarding your grand daughters A levels it’s been a hard year for students and hopefully a can only get better. I love Wales and have been many times. My husbands granny lived in Rhyl for years so have many happy memories. Hope to chat to you some more. 😊

FQ, you join us at rather a sad time for many of our members.
Not only do we all have to cope with this whole new world we find ourselves in, but several members have sadnesses of their own.
Glammanana lost her husband several months ago, Clover in April and Enfys very recently. All these ladies are extremely courageous, and had such lovely husbands. Our forum members have been here to offer as much support as we could. As well as that Oma's dear brother passed away fairly suddenly, and Daisy's son was poorly. He's home now and awaiting more results from tests. As is WG's son in law.
My 91 year old mum also became ill and unable to care for herself early in lockdown and had to go into a care home. Last week was the first time I had been allowed to see her in 4 months.
Today would have been the birthday of one of our lovely members who died very suddenly in her early 60s, just over a year ago. Sadly missed by us all, and especially Plantaholic and Sum1Ls, who were close friends of hers.
However, it's not all doom and gloom here. Far from it! I just thought it would fill you in on a few things.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Hello WeeGranny many thanks for your welcome and pleased to meet you. A week in Suffolk sounds lovely with your family. I’m a Northern Lass from Manchester. I am really sorry to hear about your Husbands health. It’s horrible coping with health issues and I hope he improves soon. Take care and hope to chat again.
