Lymphoedema.

Nana, it must be very uncomfortable I have a couple of friends with this condition. One of them says, like you Nana, that warm weather is awful, with the compression stocking on arms and leg.

We can get lymphoedema after having lymph nodes out and radiotherapy. It is one of the thing we are told to look for. I feel it is slighly puffy around my under and upper arm on that side, but I may be imagining it! I will find out at my first annual check up next week.

Gem - I hope the puffiness is nothing to worry about. I think it can take soft tissue a long time to get back to normal after surgery. What day is your check up? xx

Thursday Daisy, then first follow up mammogram at the end of the month. I have had a bit of discomfort and 'stabbing' in that breast, but from all I read this is a normal after effect of radiotherapy, and can continue for years.

Gem and Oma it’s only natural to be anxious but I know it’s impossible not to be.Try to put things into the “box” until you absolutely have to open it

Gem and Oma - I know it's bound to be on your minds, but as you say, Gem, the sensations you are getting seem to be a common reaction and nothing to worry about. xx

Enfys - that's true. I think all of us grannies will heave a collective sigh of relief when this round of operations, treatments and check ups are over and done with. xx

I'm showing my age now but Ruby Murray (one of my favourites when I was a little girl) sang "Que Sera". My GDad asked me to sing it over & over again. "Whatever will be". It stuck with me through life. If only I could sometimes conquer my nerves/fears & go with the "Whatever will be" ...struggling for the right word here?~ not attitude...no, the word escapes me. I think you know what I mean tho'. Philosophy?
