    Might be something to speak to your local pals office about. They could contact the relevant department in the hospital and let them know how distressing this was for you both and suggesting how you think it could be better handled. You could ask to be kept informed as to what action they take so it can't just be filed in the waste paper basket. If you talk to a different doctor he/she may not feel inclined to make waves with other staff.

        Nearly every hospital has a pals office based on the premises and they are there to liaise between hospital staff and patients particularly if there are problems. They used to be funded separately but now I think they come out of the hospital budget.

              They have a PALS at our hospital. I used the group after my cataract operation a year ago.
