I am looking after the spotty one on Tuesday, DD assures me he won't be infectious by then.

Now his cousin, my GD, has chickenpox. I had her from school on Wednesday as usual. We went to the park, and she was bubbly, bright, happy and energetic, and ate well. She went to her sports day yesterday, which she was very much looking forward to. Then the spots were discovered!
She doesn't have too many so far, and is apparently feeling fine and not too itchy. Her brother is only 11 weeks old, so we hope he doesn't catch it. DD spoke to the HV and was told it wasn't dangerous at his age, so we don't have the worries we had if he had caught it from his cousin.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem - I really hope GS2 doesn't get it at this stage. It could make him feel very poorly, even if it's not dangerous. My GS2 had it at about the same age and he was very close to being hospitalised, but his slightly older brother only had a few spots and a couple of days of feeling 'off colour'. I don't want to scaremonger, it's just that it can affect different children in different ways. xx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
