I ‘liked’ your post because you made me laugh too Gem. Poor SiL, he must have been all fingers and thumbs opening the message!!!

Oh, Gem, can't you just rely on the tech to give someone a fright. Your poor SIL must have been so upset.

Good to hear you're getting effective pain relief ahead of the physio's visit and had a reasonable night. Onwards and upwards, but no ladders just yet! One step at a time and all that. xxx

Gemini, very funny or not for Sil has he recovered the shock? Now behave and do as you are told then they will let you go home to your lovely family

I have been for the X rays , and am now allowed to go to the bathroom, no more commode!
I have my own room and the bathroom is close to the bed. I haven't been given permission to go by myself yet though. The physio will advise once she has finished torturing me

I can go to the loo and move around my room on my own now, with frame.
I had a walk along the corridor using 2 sticks, with the physio. She doesn't want me to use them with no one with me yet

                    Gentle progress Gem
At least with your own room you have privacy and can take a little exercise when you feel up to it at your own pace.

Gem, I'm impressed - that sounds like very good progress. When do you get the roller skates so you can zoom up and down the corridor?

I hope you get more sleep tonight and not so many trips to the bathroom. xxx

Very stiff and swollen after yesterday's exertions. Sadly this is to be expected.

I felt very tearful this morning. Once the painkillers kicked in and I had a pot of tea and chats with my DDs and OH I felt a lot better.
I've had breakfast and washed and dressed and done my first ( of 4) daily exercises. Not to the physios standard I'm sure if she had seen me
She will be along soon for me to walk with sticks again and practice on stairs.
                          May be going home later.

Gem, I think it's to be expected you would be tearful at some point. There's all the thinking about the operation beforehand, plus the effect of the various drugs and getting so tired yesterday. I've always believed even a minor operation or procedure can feel you leaving a bit wobbly. I'm so glad the chat with OH and your DDs helped, and you can never underestimate the value of a pot of tea or painkillers.

I hope the walk with sticks is a bit easier today, and no sliding down the bannisters, young lady!

                            Take care. xxx
