I have Vodka lurking at the back of the larder, I don't drink it. I might give it a go. When I was at the hospital today there were lots of people using the hand sanitisers. I am at a different hospital tomorrow to check the place on my face. I was surprised today that the doctor shook my hand.

My sister said that her friend went to order some hand sanitizer on Amazon & by the time she'd worked her way through the stages of ordering it had doubled in price when she came to the payment part.
She's a Catholic & I asked what they're doing at Communion time. They're still sharing the cup with everyone & having the communion bread given to them.
OH tried Boots & Wilko for hand sanitizer & both were out of stock. Unfortunately we don't have any but will keep a lookout."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

None in the big Sainsbury's we shopped at yesterday. I heard a lady ask as we were looking.
I will keep a lookout. It's for the travelling we want some. Luckily both DD1 and I have some, so if we can't get any more at least we have that.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I have quite a few anti bacterial hand gels, bought for various holidays, cruises etc. The thing is, it’s the anti viral gel we really need. So I am using the anti bac but relying more on the vigorous hand washing. We’ve always washed our hands regularly but being much more aware on how long we do it and how often. I am very aware on OH’s compromised immune system after all his chemo, so we have decided to avoid busy places as much as we can. We now have cases in Poole, Dorset, so must not be complacent."Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

Enfys , we got into the habit of shopping early morning before the crowds , we still do as B's immune is still very immature with the transplant ,
We don't have any Gel but I use anti bac wipes even to wipe our hands , we have always been aware of germs and I anti bac all door handles everyday even hand rail down the stairs etc but this isn't new to me I have been doing things like that for last 7 years ,
What I am doing is washing my hands a lot more but its playing havoc with my eczema my hands are so dry.
When we went for lunch out yesterday the waitress wiped our cutlery with wipes before she set them down , I thought that was a good idea especially the handles .
What I think is shocking is people stealing the anti bac bottles from hospital walls , actually pulling them off the wallsIm not fat just 6ft too small

Yes, that is awful Oma. DD told me that the specialist shop where she buys Dexter raw food had their antibacterial gel stolen from their counter. They know who it is as it’s on CCTV.
Just spoken to my friend who is off to Cyprus on Wednesday. She has a nasty cough, if she’s coughing when she’s about to board the plane I wonder if they will check her out? I would hope so!"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

I've been reading labels carefully.
I've got a very small bottle of handsanitiser - I gave the other to DIL2 as I think her need is greater with the shop. But a lot of gels, wipes etc are anti-bacterial, but not anti-viral. Old-fashioned Dettol disinfectant is both. I'd got a huge bottle of that in the back of the cupboard, but I got DIL a bottle of the blue Dettol which I hadn't seen before. It doesn't smell quite so rampantly of hospitals (or how hospitals used to smell) but hopefully does the same job.
