I still associate the smell of cigarettes with feeling car sick. I didn’t think the smoke made me sick but the connection is there.

I swear someone wants my OH to carry on smoking.
After his clinic app last Friday the nurse he saw said she would e mail our doctor to provide him with a prescription, and to call for it about Tuesday, he went today and the chemist knew nothing about it, so off to see receptionist at doctors she found the e mail apologised and said it would be ready Friday, bearing in mind he is due to see the smoking nurse a week on Monday , anyway she has sent it now as a priority and she said it would be ready tomorrow pm, I give up well I know a man who should give up pardon the pun 😏

How annoying! Your OH shouldn't have had to chase this up

That is not helping him to give up smoking Qwerty.

Qwerty - isn't it often the way, though. What should be a really simple job gets more and more complicated because people don't follow the 'system'. I hope it's all sorted out tomorrow.

What a nuisance Qwerty, hope it doesn’t put him off.

What a cock up , OH had a phone call this morning from doctors surgery , they can’t supply him with the prescription due to is history of depression, he needs s telephone appointment, but couldn’t fit him in till next Wednesday. This would mean he would be seeing smoking nurse on the Friday so how can he know if it’s working by then ? So now they are going to try and ring him late this morning which has stopped us from going out as planned , what a mess , don’t get me wrong I love my NHS but this is not good .I don’t want this medication to mess up the therapy he is having because at the moment that is more important so watch this space

I agree Qwerty the therapy is very important, perhaps deal with the smoking later.

The doctor rang this afternoon er they did say morning 😟 it seems the smoking med messes with the serotonin in your brain so one med may fight against the other. one making you think you don’t want to smoke a cigar and the other med conflicting so he’s going to try it for a week , she has told him if he feels down to stop and go back to the clinic for an alternative ., thing is he’s in the mood to stop doesn’t often happen ☹️

It's more important to have his Therapy working Qwerty although I can understand your frustration, maybe he will put his mind to it and just stop himself but in the grand scheme of things it's the Therapy that must come out on top isn't it

I agree Oma, J is doing so well with the therapy.

I agree also, the therapy and your OH's state of mind would win over giving up smoking in my book Qwerty. Perhaps the fact that the therapy is working may have given him the impetus to want to stop smoking. Hopefully this is something he can try to tackle in time without this drug.

I agree as well. The therapy will make so much difference to everything in his life, and perhaps even get him to the stage where he can give up smoking anyway without anti-smoking medication.

                                Oh excellent Qwerty!!

I never thought my ex would give up, being life long smoker, but he did. He has a vape, but at least he has kicked the tobacco habit - some years ago. It can be done
