On Friday I went to my GP's surgery, in town for my annual medication review. As I only had a couple of days supply of BP tablets left I asked the nurse to be sure to put them back on prescription. She said she would, right away, and did I want her to order them to be sent to my pharmacy? I said yes, as it was quicker than me doing it online when I got home later.
By Sunday night I had taken my last tablet (I take one morning and night), and no email from the pharmacy. As they don't always email, I went in anyway. According to the surgery website I could see that the prescription had been issued, so it should have been at the pharmacy. On Monday, no prescription made up for me for me at the pharmacy, or on their system, so they couldn't issue me with anything.
This morning I popped to the pharmacy straight after breakfast, so I could take my morning tablet, taking my phone in case of any problems. No prescription yet again, even though they checked the system again.
I phoned my GP's only to eventually be told the paper prescription was waiting there for me!! I have had mine and my mum's sent electronically to my local pharmacy every month for years, so why this happened, no idea.
So, back into the car, an 8 mile round trip to pick up the damned prescription. Back to the pharmacy, then home to take the tablet and have cuppa. I had only planned to be out of the house for 10 minutes. This seems designed to raise the blood pressure
