As you know we have a very relaxed policy here regarding spelling and grammar. As long is the poster can be understood, anything goes We are talking on a forum, not sitting an exam!
However, incorrect spelling when writing anything for your job is unacceptable. Especially in this age of spell check.
I had to send back the emailed brochure for my mum's bungalow to the estate agent four time, due to spelling errors (she had only asked me to look at the pictures, which I said were fine but that there were a few typos)
She resent it, with two of the mistakes corrected. Leaving seven, very obvious mistakes. I then pointed these all out giving the corrections. It came back again and there was still one wrong.
She never seemed apologetic or embarrassed. You would think I was a paid proof reader not a paying customer!
I know for certain that my eleven year old GD could do a lot better, and would have the sense to spell check or ask someone else if she was unsure.
As well as the many spelling errors, she said the drive had room for several cars (I told her you could get two on maybe, just) And the shed she described as integral. Integral to what, it sits at the bottom of the garden?! That is now described as a storage shed.
Do they train these people,or even ask of they can spell and write before employing them??
My rant over for the day.
