At my GS ‘s school they hold a House drama competition. Children can get together and make up little dramatic pieces to perform to gain House points.GS was most upset because the one boy who was willing to do something with him decided to pull out. Anyway DD suggested he perform on his own the act he did for the village showcase night, called Twisted Tales where GS told jokes, some of his own making.
Anyway it all went well and Finn won the Monologue category. Afterwards DD was told on the quiet by someone she knows who was one of the judges that he come first in another category but they thought they should give the award to someone else as F had already won one category and they felt they should give someone else the honour.
Of course as his Nana I felt this was unfair but I suppose I can see the other side of the argument if I was the GM of the declared winner.
What do you ladies think? Is it on a par with the Sports days when the children compete in teams etc.so there is no individual victory to make less able children upst.?
