Good news the carpet Company who called to measure yesterday have arranged to fit to-morrow afternoon so we should be all back to normal by tea-time to-morrow now that is what I call service.

The carpet fitters are due at noon and with the help of Grandson no 3 we have emptied the bedroom,I have told John to leave it to the boys but you know what men are like when it comes to things like that they have to be involved,I didn't know I had so much stuff in my wardrobes and drawers,so I am perched on the bar stool in the kitchen and told not to move for a few hours and amuse myself on the internet talk about being dismissed.

Everything is back to normal now they have done a really good job for us,we have filled out the claim form for damaged items so just have to wait for that to be processed by United Utilities.
We are off this pm to buy a new chest of drawers to replace the damaged one and hubby can then replace all his "smalls"

I can hardly get over how quickly all this has been sorted out for you Glam.It could have dragged on for months. I’m really pleased you are virtually back to normal. How exciting to be shopping for OH ‘s “smalls” plus the other sort of drawers of course.

Clover one of hubby's friends ( one who knows everything) has suggested it has been an ongoing problem as to where the water meter was fitted in the first place when they put it in 14 yrs ago when the bungalow was first built and they are obviously aware of the problem and rather than change them all which you think any company would they are just meeting the fallout if problems arise;the Utilities Company haven't even asked for our home insurance company details so Mr Smarty Pants may be right this time.

Well, at least the Utilities company have put things right quickly, although I'm sure you could have done without the shock of it all.
