Love them all , I admit I do love a traditional wood fire surrounds but I'm not sure it would look right in mine , and I love the ones with logs .
I have a modern style in my home but at heart I love ,wood fires ,wing backed chairs, throws etc
If we had a older house I think I would go for something like Qwerty & Gems or DaisysIm not fat just 6ft too small

Well we have 3 fireplaces downstairs and 2 bedrooms have fireplaces so they are all different. We have two wood burning stoves one black and one dark green enamel which we imported from France. The green one is in our main sitting room and is inset there is no mantle on this fireplace but we have a copper warming pan and big brass kettle and a couple of antique brass irons and a brass rocking chair that stand on the hearth. The fireplaces in the bedrooms I have pine cones in the fire baskets, they look pretty and we would never light a fire in them. I have some pretty Lladro ladies on the mantle in my bedroom. We also have a grandfather clock in both the sitting room and the snug, when the fires are alight it is really cosy. There is a wood burning stove in the study and that fireplaces is red brick (as is the snug); they have a clock and a few ornaments on. We do still have central heating and our house is never cold!!Grandmothers are just antique little girls - author unknown

I think they are all lovely too, in their different ways. My ideal would be an inglenook fireplace.
OH wants wood burning stove. I like them too, and if we had space to have one in another room, we would have one. I do love our gas/coal open fire though, and don't want to change it for a log burner.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Although there are so many different types and styles they all look lovely and I think it's because they are the heart of the home, especially in winter.
Avo - I would love to have a fireplace in our bedroom. I remember my parents having one when I was a child, and if I was ill I was always allowed to spend the day in their bed, with a fire blazing in the little grate."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Ha! I remember having a fire lit in my bedroom when I was ill.
Here is mine in action tonight. I have discovered that the weekend mail does not burn willingly. Strange, as I had thought that is all it is fit for. 🙄You do not have permission to view this gallery.
