Grauntie - that sounds interesting. Do you leave it out on the worktop?

I'm with Gem's OH - I hate my worktops being cluttered. have a Kenwood mixer sitting there, which, TBH, I hardly ever use and it takes up a big corner I would rather have free. But I know it's supposed to be a 'good' bit of kit, and it frustrates me that I don't seem to gel with it. We also have toaster, kettle, coffee machine (small), bread maker and microwave on the counters. I use the bread maker all the time, so I don't mind that or the kettle and coffee machine. I suppose most people have toasters, even though we don't eat a lot of toast!

My Magimix (which I love) and Nutribullet go in cupboards, which is fine. An air fryer would have a lot of competition. Do most people keep theirs out on the worktop, or does it live in a cupboard?

Mine live in the utility room, on the work top.

My Microwave , deep fat fryer and Food Vacuum machine live in the utility on the work tops

Kitchen work top I have kettle , filter jug , Ninja cooker , toaster , fruit bowl and phone tucked in a little corner
My Egg cupboard stands on the breakfast bar work top

If I had my way and cupboard space there would only be the kettle and water jug out and fruit bowl

I don’t have a utility so my worktops are a bit cluttered

I do have a utility room, but there is very little worktop. The tumble dryer takes up most of the space, and I use the bit between that and the sink for defrosting dog food and dishing her food up, etc to keep it out of the kitchen. The other small area gets used as a bit of a dumping ground and the draining area for washing up dog-related dishes etc.

But I do have plenty of workspace in the kitchen, but try as I might, I don't seem to be able to get anything else off there.

How heavy are the air fryers? Thinking about perhaps it's something that you could get out of a cupboard easily to use it.

Daisy, the cupboards are full. I did sort out the plastic boxes cluttering one cupboard this week and feel very proud of myself. I would like to move the biscuits to another cupboard now that H has found where I keep them and helps herself.

Daisy, mine is an actifry from Philips, it isn't heavy, it was on the work top then I found space in a cupboard, placed it on a tray and it is very easy to slide in and out!

Oma, I never thought of that! It is handy to slide in and out and put on the worktop.

I must do that with my food processor, that is very heavy to reach out of the cupboard.

Plant, that would work as well. I have one of those plastic trays and it slides very easily.

Plant, well done on sorting out all those storage boxes. They never stack neatly, do they!

Lizzie, that's a really good idea, putting it on a tray in a cupboard. I must try and re-organise the cupboard where I keep my Magimix. The base is very heavy and I have to store the bowl separately because it's too tall assembled. I've just reorganised my saucepan drawer and am much happier with it. That should give me an incentive to do other cupboards!

Well this is still under consideration on our house!' I am seriously considering the Ninja Foodie which Oma has.

OH will be in Portugal next week so one may just arrive when she is away

Gem, buy an air fryer. I don't regret getting one.

I was given an air fryer a few months ago. My DIL1 had bought a new one and given me her 'old' one, which wasn't very old at all. Unlike Nanto, I'm not good at working out how to use new gadgets in the kitchen, and so far I've only used it to make ordinary potato chips and sweet potato chips. Both are very nice indeed and a million times better than oven chips, but we don't have chips at home very often. I haven't tried to cook anything else in it yet, but it will air fry, roast, bake and dehumidify.

I do keep the air fryer on the work top. I moved the bread maker next to the microwave so the air fryer sits next to the hob, but further back as the counter top is deeper than the hob area.
