    Paddling pools!

Qwerty talking about getting bigger paddling pool made me me think a new thread is in order!

We had a small circular inflatable one for GD, similar to the one I had for her mum and aunties. It was fine for a while. As the GC grew bigger, in size and number something else was needed.
We didn't want it on our lawn all summer, so didn't want a rigid above ground one, but one which was easy to put up then put away again if the weather changed, we didn't see GC for a week, or we wanted the whole lawn available.
Last year we bought a rectangular 2 tier inflatable one. Although it is big, with the electric pump it blows up quickly.
All the CG love it. OH and I can easily both lie out in this pool with room to spare. We have said we will when it is really hot, but haven't yet.

We don't have the luxury now of a large garden so will not be having a pool up for the children, they are not here for long enough really when they visit we do have however one of those dancing dasies which we had for the other DGCs and they like that.
The small pool we have is used for Poppy & Dolly to put their little paws in when they go on a wander down the garden.x

We don't have one now but we did when the children were small but by time it was up and filled they played in it for half hour then got board , they did however like the thing like Glamms Dancing Daisy they would jump in and out of the shower it made

DD has a large one for Storm he played in it all day yesterday its in the shady corner of the garden and he loves jumping in and out , he wasn't keen last year but hes become a brave boy this year

When we first moved to the New Forest we inherited a large above ground swimming pool. It wasn't heated but we bought a heat-retaining cover for it, and it was wonderful for our DSs - and me! Fortunately the Labrador we had then only tired to get in it once and never tried again as he would have found it hard to get out!

Then we woke up one morning to find it had split and emptied itself all over the garden. The boys were really upset, so we replaced it and were sad to leave it behind when we moved.

Since then we've only had small paddling pools for the GCs, but I'm seriously thinking about getting a dog pool for Eva. The GDs have a large one at home, so they aren't missing out.

We had a large pool when the kids were small. It wasn't an inflatable one.
          It was something like this.

Problem was, we live on a corner, and we had kids coming that we had never seen before.
There was no way we could hide it from view.
          eventually,we gave it away.

We have been in the pool this afternoon! It was lovely Our back garden is very private, otherwise I wouldn't dare!

I have to say, my GS1 gets just as much fun from running through the garden sprinkler as the pool!!

Nanto - we used to get all the children coming in for a swim, but at least our garden was private and we knew them. I did gain rather a lot of towels though, which nobody ever claimed!

Went into the garden yesterday and my next door neighbour ( a rather portly man) was sat in the middle of a little blow up paddling pool they have for the grandchildren ,
I had a little giggle at the sight but I tell you what I wished we had one to do just that , he looked so settled

We have our new pool at last ready for next week . It’s much bigger it has hard sides as we don’t think we have the energy to pump a pool up now , nor empty it lol 😂

When my girls were small we had an old fish pond liner which was great! We hooked the slide over the side and they had fun for hours. When we moved to the last house but one there was a pool in the garden. It had had most of the garden built up around it and would have been extremely dangerous if the somewhat precarious supporting wall gave way so we had it taken out. Now we have a rectangular blow up jobbie and an electric pump! It only comes out when the GCS come on a hot day.We still have a slide and it still goes over the side!
