About 3 1/2 years ago we had new flooring in our main bathroom. We chose vinyl and the fitter said it would be all right laid over the existing laminate flooring. We were a bit dubious but they know what they're doing, don't they! Well, no they didin't! It started to lift where the joins in the laminate were and looks an awful mess. We complained straight away and they just didn't want to know. So we've been dithering about what to do with it. OH wanted to tile the floor, but the walls are tiled and I thought two different lots of tiles in such a small space would look odd.
Anyway, today we've been to another shop and chosen waterproof/resistant laminate to replace it. While we were there we decided to do our bedroom floor as well. That's laminate and after 15 years it's looking a bit tired to say the least! OH wanted carpet, but I really like the hard floor - it's easy to clean and he can have a nice fluffy bedside rug to keep his toes warm! So they're coming to measure next week - and think they can do it before that date which must not be mentioned!
So, having said I can't understand why people would buy new furniture or flooring right now, it looks as though that's what we're doing!!
