    Ironing is dangerous !

A few days ago I was using the old hissy thing.Somehow leaning across to reach for a hanger I caught the back of my arm just above the elbow,on the face of the iron which was standing on it’s heel. Obviously it hurt so I ran cold water over it and because I couldn’t see it I didn’t think too much about it.However later on I decided to look at in the mirror and was quite shocked to see the size of the burn.about 2 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. Luckily I had some large dressings which covered it.When the family arrived at the weekend they were horrified as it looked ghastly. They insisted I got advice so I asked the local Pharmasist. She said it wasn’t infected so just carry on with the dressings. She said it would probably take a good while to heal.I’m pleased to say it is improving but it is a warning to all- Stay away from the iron,

Yes, everyone STAY AWAY FROM THE IRON!!

Ouch Clover!! I once did a very silly thing. I left the iron on the floor to cool. This was many years ago, I can't remember why on the floor!
I forgot it was there and walked into it. The triangular scar on my lower leg took years to completely fade.

Aloe Vera gel (as close to 100% as you can get) works very well on burns.

Clover step away from that hot hissy thing at once .

Housework is dangerous and should only be taken on when all health and safety checks have been thoroughly examined.

Clover - poor you! This is a definite warning though - you shouldn't go anywhere near a hot hissy thing again.

I do hope it heals up ok and isn't too painful. xx

Ouch! You poor thing. Burns are horrible. I've always thought that hot thing should come with a Public Health & Safety warning. We should all avoid using one at all cost.😉

Poor you Clover. However, in the iron’s defence it was stood standing silently, probably steaming gently, awaiting your command. I imagine your command may not have been familiar to a lowly iron. I should lie low on the ironing front if I were you,for fear of repercussions.
