An interesting day in the Daisy house - or rather in the garden! OH hates gardening but knows I need some help with certain jobs. Two of 'his' jobs have been waiting ages - pruning down a huge Photinia Red Robin and pressure washing the patio. We were going to do the overgrown shrub over a year ago when OH's brother was here and could help. But that day was the hottest of the year so we left it. Today OH decided to do the job more or less on his own! I shouted instructions 'No, not that one, the one to the left' etc. It took ages!
With visitors coming on Tuesday, the patio needed a tidy up. About 3 or 4 years ago I asked OH if he'd pressure wash it for me. I have reminded him about this on and off and it's usually met with 'just say what you want doing, and I'll do it', which is rapidly followed by 'not today I've got to do x, y or z'. I think he finally realised it was looking very sad and neglected so today he started the job!!!
We remembered late on that DS2 has an attachment for his Karcher for cleaning patios which makes the job much quicker and easier, so tomorrow we'll borrow that and hope to get the job finished!
OH may not like gardening, but he's a bit of a tinker when he gets his hands on the pruning shears. He thought it would be a good time to prune a climbing rose in full flower today, but didn't notice a lilac that needs dead heading!
It felt a bit like having Cooper the puppy in the garden - there's no real harm in him, but you do have to keep an eye on him because you never know what he'll do next, bless him.
