    All change with pensions


    This is something I have been worrying about for some time, so I intend to send in the form and find out what my prediction is. Some other members will fall in this category.

    Find out how much State Pension you could get (your forecast), when you could get it and how you could increase it

    I always sent for a forecast Gem did it for a few yrs until I retired gives you an idea what you are getting makes for budgeting better too I have had a look at the website you sent what is worrying you hun

      Well I have to wait another six years before my pension kicks in so I will keep an eye on what is going on etc. but I am not going to allow myself to get worked up about it just yet. It will all change several times between now and when I consider leaving work.

        I don't think I have enough credits Qwerty, under the new system which starts next spring, to get a full pension.
        I don't have any other pension as I didn't claim any of my ex husbands, as I didn't think it was fair, so I would like a state pension LOL.

          Gem - I don't know what changes are taking place, but when I reached retirement age (60 for me) I was able to claim for several years when I was out of the job market bringing up children, and I also took the option to 'buy in' the few extra years I needed for a full pension. I'd always paid full NI (not the married women's rate). You may be pleasantly surprised - I hope so, anyway.

            You will get something Gem I didn't have enough years but they do take into account your years of being at home and I was at home for 10yrs bringing up the children I drew mine at 60 and the extra years were too expensive for what I would gain I have a small works pension only £105 a month as only their 6 yrs I was lucky I had a OH that drew a full pension and a good works one but I am sure you will be fine OH will have to cough a bit up for you but don't tell her I said so
