    Another bank holiday!

Easter, May Day, and now Spring bank holiday - they all come at once!

Have you any plans for this one? I hope no one is heading for France, with the air travel controler problems and petrol rationing!
The weather forecast is not too bad for the weekend.
We are having the family over for lunch on Sunday. It will be the first time all 3 grandchildren will have been in my house together
OH golfing Saturday and Monday. I may do something with DD1 and GS on Monday.

Whether you go out, or go into your garden, I hope we all have a good and sunshine filled weekend

They do all come at once. This week-end will be the last one till the end of August! It seems crazy to me that three (Easter, May Day and Spring Bank Hol) are so close together.

We are decorating the living room! We may have a family get together on Sunday or Monday, and we are going to friends for dinner on Monday evening.

The weather forecast seems ok-ish for us - but not sunshine-filled!

Crikey, Oma - you don't do things by half! It's taken us about a year to get round to doing the living room. The hall stairs and landing are next and I've just been discussing it with OH. He went pale at the thought.

Are all the rooms the same colour? Are you doing woodwork as well?

Yes all white woodwork changing kitchen and dining room colour from pale yellow back to all white , once I get started I can't stop the hall stairs and landing will be next, also the downstairs loo and utility but they will be last as BIL is going to re tile the utility to match the new kitchen tiles

              My goodness Oma.What a project.
Daisy our hall, stairs and landing are crying out for a makeover and WHEN we get round to it I think for the first time we'll have to get a "man" in.
We have no plans for the weekend,in fact I'd forgotten about it until DS1 reminded me.
I hope everyone has a happy time.

Bank holidays are like buses they all come at once I am disappointed that they haven't made a specific bank holiday for the Queens birthday though, we are going to DD's tomorrow for pizzas from his new pizza oven hoping to cook it and sit out with a nice glass of wine, weather looks like it's going to be warm but not sunny otherwise just chilling out we are away to Birmingham Thursday.
DS and family are away to their caravan so no baby minding for 11dys !!! Of course we shall see them over the 11dys but only for visiting can't go long without seeing them
Whatever your up to enjoy it 😄 Even decorating 😱

Qwerty, for some reason I thought we were having a national holiday on June 11th, which is the Queens official birthday - but apparently not!

No I can't believe it, the civil service get a day in lieu to take when they want but this happens every year , but we have never had a Queen live this long especially still on the throne, it would be wonderful if she lived to 100 and we could celebrate but is it likely? Like l I would be going on for 80 !!

It would have been nice to have a national holiday for the Queen's official birthday this year. 11th June is the date we've booked for OH to have his flight in a Spitfire (his 70th birthday present last October!) - he could have done a victory roll and a fly past for Her Majesty.

Well I shall be on my own on BH Monday, husband working all weekend, all children/grandchildren away camping. I have some work to do and of course the clearing of the kitchen cupboards. I don't mind being on my own, well I do a bit, but when you live with someone who is a shift worker you just have to get in with it don't you? Husband got his first salary notification with no NI on yesterday, amazing the difference it makes to the end figure.

Zizi - I'm sure you will make the most of the BH Monday. Sometimes when life is as busy as yours a day to yourself is good - even if you do clean out cupboards.
