    Shrove Tuesday

    Anyone having pancakes today?

OH will make us some. I have hardly ever made successful pancakes, so I always make sure to marry someone who can

I might try and make some this afternoon - I'm rubbish at them as well, but unlike you I didn't make good pancake-related choices with my OH!

I used to make stacks of pancakes when the children were small, they used to wait for them to come out of the pan. Always with just lemon juice and sugar. Haven't made them since OH died.

I suppose this will sound strange to most of you.
We have savoury pancakes served with stew, which we are having today.
Both of us were used to this when we were kids.
I know this is a popular combination in our area, and also in Sheffield.
There is plenty of talk about this on the internet.

            I don't think it's odd at all Nan2
My ex used to make a lovely savoury pancake stack, with different fillings between the pancake layers.

I would be happy to have savoury AND sweet pancakes today

I have never made sweet pancakes,if i did,i know hubby wouldn't thank me for them.
I always keep some in the freezer, ready to serve with a stew.

I made some for myself and GS this morning! I had syrup and he had lemon juice and sugar. It was nice to have someone to make pancakes for, OH doesn't like them and it 's a faff making them for myself! Thought I had some Nutella, but didn't and could only find Minstrels, so I melted them, except they didn't melt because of the crispy shell, but the middles did! GS put them on a pancake, but I just ate them!

WG - I'm so glad you had someone to share pancakes with!

The GDs have been here today, and they had toasted waffles with ice cream and blueberries for one, and ice cream with Nutella for the other. Then this afternoon I made pancakes for all of us. The weren't too bad, and we all had lemon juice and sugar on the except GD2 - and she had Nutella, again! I think she'd eat a whole jar given half a chance.

There weren't any pancakes left, Gem.

I was telling the girls that my mother made lovely pancakes, but she always gave the first one to the dog because she said the first one was never any good!

That's right Daisy, the first one isn't the best, bet the dog loved it.

Nanto, when I lived in Staffordshire for a short time we used to get sort of pancakes from the butcher.

My GS2 used to love pancakes as a wrap with sausage and beans in or Bacon , I must admit they were yummy

We have a place by one of our beaches called The Pancake Kitchen it does dozens of varieties , this was the first time GS2 tried a savoury one as a toddler and he loved them ,
                              He would request them often
