I used to love the Dutch pancakes when we lived there! We used to go to a little cafe in Delft for a treat. I remember taking DD to a pannekoeken huis with her friends for a birthday treat!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

I'm afraid the dog didn't get it on this occasion, Plant. I didn't want to give Cooper any in case it upset his tummy, and you can't give one without the other.

Plant - did you get Staffordshire oatcakes from your butcher? They're delicious, slightly warmed and eaten with bacon and eggs. They also have pikelets - smaller and thicker more like American pancakes to look at. Equally delicious. There are still Oatcake shops in the Potteries and recipes are handed down from generation to generation.

Oma we also had a restaurant called The Pancake Kitchen in West Kirby we used to take our kids there on a Friday tea-time when John was on an early shift, the guy who ran it was Canadian and some of the combinations where amazing I never ever got to find out why he closed down he was greatly missed.
I was lazy this year and bought ready made ones they where OK I had lemon and a drizzle of sugar I only had two plenty for me.
When my DGCs where little I would make lots of them and they went down a treat my youngest DGSs was known as Pancake Face until he was about 12yrs old.

They sell (a version) of them in the supermarkets in Stoke, but you can't beat the old-fashioned little oatcake shops. I think these days some of them even sell online! I must try them one day.

Glamm - I have to smile at your youngest GS being called Pancake Face. I wonder what happened to the man who made the Canadian pancakes.
