    GS3 and Easter chocolate

I usually buy my GC chocolate at Easter, an egg or chocolate bunny. I already give them weekly pocket money so I'm not getting into money at easter as well

For GS3's first two Easters I bought him clothes, as he wouldn't have been allowed chocolate.
This year as he is going on for three I decided he should allowed a bit of Easter choc!
I bought all the GC chocolate animals from M&S this year. A bear for GS3. I had shown him this and the ones for his cousins. He was very happy
We met him and DD yesterday and gave him the bear. DD said he had talked about it all week! He is so pleased and excited and can't wait to eat it. He has hardly tasted chocolate, so whether he will get the whole bear or share it with his parents remains to be seen

Even if he's allowed to open eat and eat a small portion he would be excited about.
I have a niece and nephew who were never under any circumstances allowed chocolate or sweets.
As soon as they were old enough to make their own decisions they bought them
My niece is a chocoholic, nephew loves fruit and nut but never really eats a lot.

Giving little ones money is not the same is it.

I still buy Easter Eggs for our 2,for the grandaughters and now Tommie of course.
Always buy a dark chocolate one for hubby.
On Tuesday i went all over town trying to get a dark chocolate one,but couldn't get one anywhere.
Luckily i managed to get one with my Asda order.
Tommie only gets a small egg from us because he gets quite a few.,but i do put him some money in an envelope.
Someone once said, oh you are better off buying a box of chocolates, but i can get those any time of year.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

A bar or box of chocolates is better value Nan2, but an egg or animal is more special I think

I agree Gemini, there is something special about and egg or chocolate animal at Easter. When I looked for some in our local M&S Food Hall there were hardly any left.

Plant that happened to me last year, so I got mine in M&S weeks ago.
Bear for GS3, dog for GS1, cow for GD, dinosaur for GS2. All look lovely 😊

I agree there's something special about having a chocolate egg or animal at Easter. It's like having a chocolate Santa or chocolate money at that other time of the year. Big as our GSs are we got them eggs - and forgot to give them to them when we saw them last week. We gave eggs to the GDs today, not huge ones because they get enough to last for months. So we gave them some money and OH made them bangles he'd turned for them.

I got an egg today as well! On Mother's Day GD1 gave me a little family of chicks that she'd crocheted. We were sitting chatting today and as always she'd got some crochet on the go. She made me an egg to go with my little hen family!

Gem, yes it was lovely, and she's promised to make a few more to give the hen a little clutch of them. I can see I'll have to build a nest at this rate.

Daisy, I was just thinking, your GD must be a very handy girl to crochet like that, says me, that can't crochet at all.

Lizzie, she's self-taught from YouTube videos. She looks at her earlier work now and is unpicking it all to make better use of the wool. She also sews and adapts things she buys in charity shops to her own designs - she's even made things like cargo pants with lots of pockets. She can look at a piece of fabric or a garment and see what can be made from it!

Her other granny is a good dressmaker, but even she finds her asking GD1 for advice these days.

I tried the you tube Daisy, just didn't get the grip of it!! I can knit, I used to knit a lot, from Aran to Iceland patterns etc, sewing, I am the same, can see the item finished when I see the material! My sister was a fully trained tailoress, very good with mens suits, jackets etc.

Lizzie, GD1 keeps saying she'll teach me to crochet, but I think she can see it will be an uphill task! I certainly couldn't have done the complicated knitting that you used to do. That's interesting that you can see the finished garment as well. It must have been a treat to see your sister making such complicated men's wear. Did she work for a tailor, or make things to order?
